The readings for the Second Sunday of Lent capture the essence of the message that shapes the Lenten season, that is framed by two dramas - that of Abraham and of the Transfiguration.

Repentance is the foundational Gospel command and today it takes on greater significance as we are called to confront the evils of our day. Only a heart set right with Christ can see with clarity and speak with charity.

On March 10 at 7:00 pm, we will offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation during our Lenten Penance Service. We have invited a number of priests from neighboring parishes to assist us. Please join us in this Holy Season of Lent in preparing ourselves for the Lord's Resurrection at Easter.

Beginning on Ash Wednesday, Parish Outreach Ministry will collect personal hygiene items for needy children in Clay County Schools.

The Lord calls us to become saints, challenges us to get to work with hearts formed in Christ-like love. “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.” The words of St. Paul are a powerful challenge to the way we live our lives in preparation to begin our Lenten journey.

Lent is fast approaching, and so is our Friday Lenten Fish Fry! Please join us on Fridays: Feb 19, 25, and March 5, from 5:30-6:45 pm for food and fellowship, followed by Stations of the Cross.
