The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament. (CCC 1601) Couples should contact the priest before setting a date for their wedding in order to ensure church availability. Participation in a marriage preparation program is required and couples are encouraged to begin preparation at least 8 months prior to their wedding date. Call the Parish Office to begin these preparations.
Wedding Coordinator
The wedding coordinator meets with the bride and groom during the time of preparation for their wedding and makes sure that the couple has all the documentation that the church requires. The coordinator serves as a liaison between the couple and the Pastor, and relays any necessary information. The coordinator plans the date and time for the wedding rehearsal, and opens/closes the church. The coordinator makes arrangements between the church and the family, following specific instructions and decisions from the Pastor. Wedding coordination is specific to each wedding. On the day of the wedding, the coordinator arrives 30 minutes in advance to guide the family in their walk to the church. The coordinator encourages the family to be on time and observes the ceremony.
